Job Summary
This HLP role provides technical support to pipeline and flowline integrity management, maintenance planning, and emergency response coordination within OML 30’s onshore operations. The position is ideal for early-career engineers looking to deepen their experience in pipeline systems, corrosion monitoring, and field execution of pipeline-related activities, while supporting engineering, HSSE, and community interface processes.
Key Accountabilities
• Support inspection, monitoring, and reporting of pipeline/TFP parameters, including pressure and cathodic protection readings.
• Assist in planning and coordinating pipeline integrity programs, including pigging, leak detection, sectional replacements, and statutory inspections.
• Provide engineering support for field activities such as emergency leak repairs, valve isolations, manifold operations, and hydrotesting.
• Liaise with contractors for submission of work packs and documentation in line with permit-to-work (PTW) requirements.
• Participate in site readiness inspections, contractor kick-off meetings, and equipment/material audits in coordination with HSSE and security teams.
• Track pipeline-related work activities and support documentation of site interventions, including daily updates and incident investigations.
• Maintain historical records of valve operations, inspections, pipeline failures, and repair strategies.
• Support preparation of annual work plans for statutory pipeline maintenance and regulatory inspections.
• Interface with community liaison teams during field execution to manage local sensitivities and support smooth operations.
• Ensure all work complies with internal engineering standards, industry best practices, and regulatory (NUPRC) requirements.
Skills and Competences
• Strong foundational knowledge of pipeline operations, pigging, and corrosion prevention (e.g., cathodic protection).
• Understanding of P&IDs, pipeline schematics, and isolation procedures.
• Familiarity with leak detection, repair techniques, and pipeline integrity monitoring.
• Effective coordination skills with contractors, vendors, and community stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of PTW systems, HSE practices, and regulatory frameworks.
• Technical reporting, incident documentation, and field data tracking.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); AutoCAD familiarity is a plus.
Qualification
• B.Eng. in Mechanical, Petroleum, or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in pipeline engineering, maintenance, or operations support within the oil & gas sector.
• COREN registration or eligibility preferred.
• Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in field locations and support emergency call-outs as required.
